Data Retention Policy

Effective July 26, 2026

PracticeMeter keeps personal information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary to operate the service, provide practice history and analysis, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service.

Retention periods

  • Account and practice data: retained while the account is active so the user can view long-term progress. It is deleted after a verified account-deletion request, except for temporary backup copies and records we must retain by law.
  • Backup copies: may remain in encrypted or access-controlled backups temporarily after deletion until they are overwritten through the normal secure backup-rotation process.
  • Billing and transaction records: may be retained as reasonably necessary for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal compliance. Payment-card details are handled by Stripe rather than stored by PracticeMeter.
  • Support messages and security logs: retained only as long as reasonably needed to provide support, secure the service, address an active dispute or incident, or meet a legal obligation.
  • De-identified information: may be retained to improve and evaluate the service when it can no longer reasonably identify a user.

Adult-only pilot

The current pilot does not permit accounts for people under 18. If we learn that a child provided personal information, we will investigate and delete it unless a limited retention period is legally required.

Deletion requests

Users can request account deletion from the app’s settings or email support@practicemeter.com. We may verify identity before acting. Account deletion cancels any active Stripe subscription, removes stored payment methods from the Stripe customer, and deletes active account, practice, studio, support-request, and subscription records. Limited Stripe transaction records and temporary backups may remain for the periods above where legally or operationally required.

This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
