Terms of Service

Effective July 28, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PracticeMeter ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Description of Service

PracticeMeter provides a piano practice platform that analyzes MIDI input to provide real-time feedback, performance metrics, and practice analytics. The Service includes but is not limited to exercise detection, finger-level analysis, timing feedback, and progress tracking.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

The current pilot is available only to people who are at least 18 years old. You may not create or use an account for a child during this pilot.

4. Subscription and Payment

When paid subscriptions are available, the price, billing interval, currency, and any trial will be shown in Stripe Checkout before you subscribe. By subscribing, you agree to:

  • Pay all applicable subscription fees
  • Provide current and accurate payment information
  • Automatic renewal at the interval and price shown at checkout unless you cancel before renewal

You can update payment details, view invoices, and cancel through the Stripe billing portal linked from Subscription settings. Unless the portal states otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period and does not create a prorated refund. Charges are generally non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated at checkout. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact support. More detail appears in our Cancellation and Refund Policy.

5. User Content and Data

You retain ownership of all MIDI data, recordings, and other content you upload to the Service ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

  • Store, process, and analyze your User Content to provide the Service
  • Use aggregated, anonymized data to improve our services and machine learning models
  • Display your practice data and analytics to you through the Service

You are responsible for your User Content and must ensure you have all necessary rights to upload it to the Service.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
